A Downingtown man has been charged with driving under the influence a third time in three months in West Whiteland Township, according to the police.

Dharmesh Vaswani, 42, was most recently arrested and charged with a DUI last week following an Aug. 8 accident near the intersection of Route 100 and the Route 30 bypass, police said. Officers responding to a call of an erratic driver saw Vaswani's vehicle strike a traffic signal box and two other vehicles.

On July 29, he was arrested and charged with a DUI after falling asleep in his vehicle, which was parked across three spaces at the Wawa at 10 W. Boot Rd., police said.

On May 31, he was arrested at a DUI checkpoint on North Pottstown Pike, police said.

Vaswani and his attorney, Ryan Hyde, could not be reached for comment.

Vaswani, who lives on the 700 block of Southwind Lane in Downingtown, has been arraigned and released after posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bail.
