A large barn in a rural Bucks County borough burned Tuesday evening and firefighters were still battling the wooden inferno at 8 p.m., according to a fire official at the Sellersville Fire Department.
The wooden structure roughly 40 feet wide and 100 feet long on a farm along Haflers Road in Sellersville began burning sometime after 5 p.m. and the official who answered the phone at the fire department at 8 p.m. said firefighters were likely to battle the blaze for a couple more hours.
A "full tanker task force" was called to the scene to supply water in an area that doesn't have access to hydrants. About six fire companies were at the scene battling the blaze, which according to news alert, included small explosions inside the barn.
There were no initial reports of any animals inside the barn at the time of the fire. Sellersville is about 15 miles west of Doylestown, the county seat.
