Pa. cop dressed as Amish woman in flasher sting

A Western Pennsylvania police sergeant recently went undercover by dressing as an Amish woman in a bid to catch a flasher targeting the Pennsylvania Dutch community.

Sgt. Chad Adams, of the Pulaski Township Police Department, said the covert operation was launched in January, after officers received reports of a man exposing himself to Amish children as they walked home from school. The suspect would allegedly pull up to the kids, get out of his car, and masturbate in front of them.

Pulaski Township police never caught the suspect and believe he was arrested in another county, according to Adams.

But, after the two-month operation wrapped up, Adams chose to share a photo of himself wearing a bonnet and apron on the department's Facebook page to show the lengths to which investigators must go when hunting down suspected predators.

"I wanted to share with you that we will use all means available to try and protect our children," Adams wrote. "That includes dressing up as an Amish woman to attempt to apprehend a pervert!"

Adams reportedly received assistance from a female officer with the Wampum Borough Police Department, who donned Amish garb, as well. He also thanked police in Neshannock Township and New Wilmington Borough for their assistance.
