Police: Boy, 10, dies in accidental bathtub drowning in Mayfair

A 10-year-old Mayfair boy died Wednesday afternoon in what investigators believe was an accidental drowning.

Police said the child's 58-year-old grandmother discovered the boy face down and unconscious inside a bathtub in a home shortly before 11:20 a.m. on the 3100 block of Magee Avenue.

Medics rushed the child to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he died shortly before 12:15 p.m.

Further information about the circumstances surrounding the death was unavailable Wednesday afternoon. Police said the investigation remained ongoing.
