Reward offered for men who set cat on fire in Olney

The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for the identities of two men who are accused of Sunday morning setting an apparently stolen cat on fire, then leaving it to scramble helplessly down an Olney street.

A witness told officials she shortly before 9:30 a.m. saw the flaming feline fleeing down Third Street toward Wellens Avenue. The woman said she also saw two men at the corner and heard one of them say, "I put a lot of fluid on it."

The male cat, which was recovered near the crime, is being treated for severe burns at the PSPCA shelter hospital. A microchip led investigators to the animal's owners. The family lives about 10 blocks away from the scene and reported their pet missing late this summer, according to authorities.

Local store surveillance footage captured two men matching the witness' description of the alleged animal abusers. They are described as black or Latino males in their early-to-mid-20s. One of the suspects is tall and thin, while the second man is short and stocky.
