Emergency workers evacuated a South Philadelphia home after a brick shed in the rear of the property fell and caused serious damage to the first floor of the building late Saturday.

One uninjured woman and 16 cats that had been living at the house in the 1500 block of McKean Street were rescued, officials said.

Police said there was no damage to any other building in the block. The cats were safe and being cared for by two agencies.
