Bucks DA: No decision yet if off-duty Philly officer will be charged in husband's shooting

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. The officer's name has not been released.

The investigation into an off-duty Philadelphia police officer accused of shooting and wounding her husband in the driveway of their Northampton Township home "is still ongoing" and no decision about any charges is expected to be made until at least Friday, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub said Wednesday.

The woman, whose name has not been released, went to the Northampton Township police station after the shooting Tuesday and "left of her own accord," Weintraub said. He declined to comment further on the status of the investigation or the case.

The shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on the unit block of North Marmic Drive in the Holland section of Northampton Township.

As of Jan. 1, 2012, Philadelphia police officers with five or more years on the force have been allowed to live outside the city, as long as they remain in Pennsylvania.
