Two brothers, ages 12 and 15, were injured in a shooting Tuesday night in West Philadelphia, police said.

The attack was reported just before 7:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of Ludlow Street, about three blocks from their home, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The boys were standing on the sidewalk by a breezeway when three males approached and one of them started firing.

The teen was shot in the chest, left arm, and right hand. The 12-year-old was wounded in the left side of his neck. The boys ran to friends house and sought assistance inside, Small said.

Police took the boys to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where they were listed in stable condition.

Small said the shooting may have stemmed from an earlier situation at a school. Detectives were checking surveillance video recorded by cameras at the corner of 60th and Ludlow Streets.
