Burlco man charged in fatal stabbing of roommate

A 34-year-old Burlington County man was indicted Thursday on charges of  fatally stabbing his roommate last fall, prosecutors said.

William Hines Jr., of Burlington Township, was arrested Oct. 30 for the stabbing of Scott Willis, 54, the day before at the residence they shared at the Chateau Apartments on Sunset Road. Police were called to the location just after 10 a.m. and found Willis on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds and lacerations to his face, chest, arms, and hands.

Willis died on Nov. 4 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Hines was indicted on one count of murder and related offenses. He has been in custody at the Burlington County Jail since his arrest.
