The preliminary hearing for the man police say shot and killed 18-year-old Bianca Roberson in a Chester County road-rage attack two weeks ago has been postponed.

At the request of his attorney, the hearing for David Desper, 28, of Trainer, Delaware County, now is set for Aug. 17.

Police say Desper fatally shot Roberson, a recent Bayard Rustin High School graduate, at the height of the homeward-bound commute on June 28 as the two were jockeying for position on a stretch of Route 100 southbound in West Goshen Township where two lanes merge into one.

Daniel McGarrigle, whose firm is based in Media, has declined comment, and calls and visits to homes of Desper's relatives have gone unanswered.

Court documents make no mention of any statement by Desper.

The Chester County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday that it had no updates on the investigation into the incident.

Desper remains jailed without bail. He has been charged with first- and third-degree murder, possession of an instrument of crime, and reckless endangerment.
