Man found bound, stabbed and burned
Authorities responding to a fire call made the gruesome discovery.
A 29-year-old man stabbed numerous times was found dead in bed, his hands bound, his body partially burned, Philadelphia police said.
The discovery was made around 3:44 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 7500 block of Overbrook Avenue in the city's Overbrook Park section.
Police said a fire had been set in the basement of the property. When fire crews extinguished it, they discovered the man's body, his bands bound together with a belt, police said.
An investigation continues. The victim's identity was not revealed.
