Man pleads guilty to killing Willingboro store clerk during robbery

A 33-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to the fatal shooting of a convenience-store clerk following a 2015 robbery in Willingboro, said Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
Erasmus Canty, of Burlington Township, admitted to killing of Matthew Mwinsori, 42, after robbing the Quick N Go, 96 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., on Nov. 25, 2015.
Canty told Superior Court Judge Philip E. Haines that Mwinsori chased him out of the store into the parking lot, where Canty shot him during a struggle. Mwinsori died an hour later at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro.
Canty pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter. His sentencing was set for March 29.
