Two women dead in apparent murder-suicide in Radnor home
Police are calling the deaths a murder-suicide.
Two women were shot dead in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide in a Radnor Township home.
A call came in at 7:05 p.m. Monday reporting a shooting inside a three-story home on the first block of Lowrys Lane, officials said.
Neighbors in the area reported hearing shots and smelling something acrid. Video from the scene shows crime scene detectives donning protective suiting before entering the house.
The house where the shooting occurred is adjacent to tracks for the Norristown High Speed Line and not too far from Villanova University's stadium.
Police have not identified the women. But quoting unidentified sources, Delaware Online said one of them was Meredith Chapman, a former communications official at the University of Delaware and unsuccessful Delaware state Senate candidate who recently became as an assistant vice president at Villanova University.
Chapman also was the wife of Newark City Councilman Luke Chapman, who announced earlier this year he would not be seeking a fourth term. Delaware Online reported.
