West Philly stabbing leaves woman in critical condition

A woman was in extremely critical condition after being stabbed inside a house Friday morning in West Philadelphia, police said.

Just after 8 a.m. in the 1300 block of North 53rd Street, the woman, whose age was not provided, was stabbed  in the stomach and also sustained burns to her buttocks. She was taken by medics to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

No weapon was recovered but a male, who was not further identified, was arrested. Police described the motive as a family dispute.
