Woman driving van shot dead in Fern Rock
At least five shots were fired at the driver's side of the white Dodge van about 8:35 p.m. on the northbound side of Broad Street at Grange Avenue.

A 23-year-old woman was shot and killed in the city's Fern Rock section Wednesday night while driving a van with five passengers that then crashed into a building, police said.
At least five shots were fired at the driver's side of the white Dodge van about 8:35 p.m. on the northbound side of Broad Street at Grange Avenue, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The van veered onto Old York Road and crashed into the front of a business.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. The passengers — two women, ages 23 and 24, and three children, ages 3 and 4 — were taken to Einstein Medical Center to be treated for cuts and bruises. One of the women and a child were related to the driver, Small said.
Police believe the gunshots may have come from a dark-colored vehicle that was driving alongside the van on Broad Street, Small said.
