A York College of Pennsylvania student was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Thursday by a group of children ranging in age from 10 to 12 years old, the school said in an alert.
The unidentified male student was approached by a group of about five boys around 5:30 p.m. while he was alone in an alley in the City of York, the York Daily Record first reported and school confirmed Friday.
One of the suspects, who displayed a gun, was described as wearing a ski mask and a yellow T-shirt. The group then fled, according to the alert.
The student, who was not injured, alerted college officers of the incident about 10 minutes later. The officers then searched the area but did not find the suspects.
The York City Police are investigating the incident.
"Campus Safety does not believe these suspects are connected to any other recent warning notices," said the alert, which also listed safety tips that urged students to travel in groups and to avoid alleys and other shortcuts.
