Philadelphia firefighter hurt in fall battling Cobbs Creek house fire
The firefighter is reported in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
A firefighter is reported to be in stable condition after falling through the roof while battling a blaze in the rainy darkness in a two-story row house early Tuesday in West Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek section
The firefighter, whose name was not released, fell to the floor of the room below during the fire in the home on the 5600 block of Spruce Street, officials said.
He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition. There is no word yet on the nature of his injuries.
There are no other reports of injuries in the fire, which was reported around 3 a.m. and declared under control about 40 minutes later.
