Amanda Berry returns home

Amanda Berry, who disappeared a decade ago, returned home this morning.

She arrived at her sister's Cleveland home to a huge crowd of media, law enforcement, neighbors and cheers.

"Amanda Berry is HOME!" the Cleveland Police Department tweeted shortly before noon.

Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus were rescued Monday after Berry escaped from the home where they had been held captive for 10 years and called 911.

Berry, 27, had been expected to speak to the media after she arrived home.

Instead, her sister, Beth Serrano, told reporters that the family was happy Amanda was home and she had decided not to speak yet. Serrano thanked the community and asked the crowd to respect her family's privacy..

"I want to thank the public and the media for their support," she said. "We appreciate all you have done for us over the past 10 years."

DeJesus, 23, is also expected to return home today. Knight, 32, is at MetroHealth Medical Center in good condition, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Three brothers -- Ariel, Onil and Pedro Castro -- are in custody in connection with the disappearances. All three young women went missing about 10 years ago, when they were in their teens or early 20s.
