Attempted carjacking reported at West Chester University
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking at West Chester University.
The university's Department of Public Safety said a man approached a woman as she was parking her car on Tuesday evening.
The man told her to get out of the vehicle but the woman refused and drove away. She wasn't harmed and the would-be carjacker didn't display a weapon.
Authorities said the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Sharpless Street between the Sharpless and New Street parking garages.
Crime at the university has been in the news this month after three women reported being sexually assaulted during a three-week stretch.
Police described the suspect in the attempted carjacking as a white man about 6 feet tall and wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.
