Police identify victim in fatal Winslow Township crash

Police have identified the man killed in a Wednesday-morning South Jersey crash as an 89-year-old man from Winslow Township.

Authorities said Michael Eppolite was driving his 1995 Chevrolet van west on Williamstown Road near Erial Road when he crossed the center of the road and struck a 1991 Ford F150 pick-up truck, which was was traveling east, head-on.

Both Eppolite and the truck driver, 25-year-old Anthony Passarella, of Glassboro, were trapped in their vehicles, according to Winslow Township police.

Eppolite died and Passarella was hospitalized with serious injuries in the crash, which happened shortly before 7 a.m.

Police are still trying to determine the circumstances of the accident.

Williamstown Road was closed for several hours Wednesday as authorities investigated.
