Slushy Monday ahead for Philadelphia region
If March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, the middle of the month appears to be leaning toward the lion.
Forecasters are calling for a mix of rain, sleet and snow in the Philadelphia region today.
The National Weather Service says a bit of snow is possible, most likely between noon and 4 p.m. But because temperatures should remain above freezing, any snow would melt soon after hitting the ground.
Sleet could be in the mix from noon until 7 p.m., and rain is likely from noon through the evening and overnight.
Any accumulation from snow and sleet should be less than an inch, according to the weather service. After 8 p.m., the precipitation should turn to all rain.
The weather service says there's a 90 percent chance of precipitation during the day, and a 100 percent chance in the evening hours.
The high temperature today is expected to be 41 degrees.
