Episcopal Academy to honor Fitz Eugene Dixon Jr.

Episcopal Academy in Merion will hold a memorial service Friday in honor of Fitz Eugene Dixon Jr., the civic leader and sports team owner who died in August at the age of 82.

Dixon, a 1942 graduate of Episcopal, later taught, coached and was an administrator at the school. He also served on the private school's board of trustees for more than 30 years and was chairman for four.

The 4 p.m. service in Episcopal's Memorial Chapel is part of the school's alumni weekend. The service is open to the public. - Martha Woodall
