Two women were in critical condition and a child was in guarded condition at Temple University Hospital after they were run over - deliberately, police said - in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia last night. Their names were not released.

Police said the incident began about 7:30 p.m., when two women apparently got into an argument on the 2800 block of Germantown Avenue. One of them got into a car and ran over the woman she had been arguing with, and another woman and a child who were nearby.

Further details were unavailable, but a suspect was apprehended by police a few blocks away and was taken into custody. The name of the suspect, who was being interviewed last night by authorities, was not released. - Jacqueline L. Urgo
