Two Gloucester City men who admitted to using BB guns to shoot out hundreds of windows last year were ordered yesterday to pay their victims a total of nearly $60,000 in restitution, authorities said.

Sean D. Howarth, 20, and Matthew P. Shinn, 20, shot out more than 164 windows in cars, businesses, and houses that they picked at random during a two-week shooting spree that stretched across Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties. The men were arrested April 7 when an off-duty police officer noticed Howarth's car fleeing the scene of an incident in Somerdale. Voorhees police found BB guns inside the car, said Acting Camden County Prosecutor Joshua M. Ottenberg.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Howarth and Shinn must pay $59,715 before Oct. 30 or they will face state prison terms when they are sentenced Nov. 11. - Sam Wood
