Cherry Hill man indicted in series of attacks on wife

A Cherry Hill man, who allegedly assaulted his wife for 15 months and burned her 21 times with hot oven racks, was indicted yesterday by a grand jury on a charge of attempted murder, authorities said.

A Cherry Hill man, who allegedly assaulted his wife for 15 months and burned her 21 times with hot oven racks, was indicted yesterday by a grand jury on a charge of attempted murder, authorities said.

Roy F. Friedman, 50, was arrested Dec. 17 after his wife was admitted to Cooper University Hospital with severe burns on her arms and legs. He remains jailed after failing to post $150,000 bail.

Friedman, a computer consultant, is also charged with aggravated assault for allegedly hitting her on the head with paperweights and pointing a handgun at her on several occasions, aggravated sexual assault for forced intercourse, terroristic threats for allegedly threatening to kill her, witness tampering for threatening to harm her if she went to police, and several weapons counts.
