Bookstore strippers slashed

A knife-wielding stripper attacked two coworkers yesterday at an adult bookstore in Camden County, sending two dancers to the hospital with severe lacerations to their backs and buttocks, police said.

Natasha Giberson, 26, arrived with a companion at the Carnival Adult Book Store on Route 130 in Brooklawn shortly before noon, police said.

They stormed into the dressing room and confronted two dancers who were preparing to go on stage for the lunch crowd, said Sgt. Steven Saymon, spokesman for the Brooklawn police.

Giberson, who was not scheduled to entertain until 6 p.m., accused the two dancers of stealing a pair of sneakers from her locker over the weekend, Saymon said.

The argument grew heated. According to authorities, Giberson drew a folding knife. As her companion, Jennie Santos, 23, grappled with the dancers, Giberson slashed repeatedly at their shoulders, backs, buttocks and thighs, Saymon said.

Leaving the dancers bleeding in the dressing room, Giberson and Santos fled and drove home to Collingswood, authorities said. Shortly after, Collingswood police arrested them, Saymon said.

The dancers were rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where they were treated for deep cuts.

Giberson and Santos were each charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Giberson, who was also charged with weapons offenses, was held last night on $71,000 bail at the Camden County jail. Santos, who Giberson said was her legal wife, was held on $50,000 bail, Saymon said.

The sneakers have not been found.
