Delaware man dies in motorcycle accident

A Newark, Del., man was fatally injured Monday evening when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Route 2 west of Wilmington, Delaware State Police said.

Timothy D. Steltzer, 46, was pronounced dead Tuesday from head injuries at Christiana Hospital, police said.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh said Steltzer was westbound near Dunlinden Acres and in changing lanes lost control of his 2002 Honda Shadow, striking a curb. Steltzer was not wearing a helmet, Whitmarsh said. - Walter F. Naedele
