Nine reported hurt in deck collapse at the Shore

Nine people were reportedly injured last night when a deck attached to a bayside restaurant collapsed on Ocean Drive near Wildwood Crest, N.J., around 7:30 p.m.

Nine people were reportedly injured last night when a deck attached to a bayside restaurant collapsed on Ocean Drive near Wildwood Crest, N.J., around 7:30 p.m.

Sgt. Steven Jones, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said the incident happened at the Two Mile Inn Crab House in Lower Township, between Cape May and Wildwood Crest in an area known as Two Mile Landing.

Divers and emergency rescue workers were on the scene last night checking the water for additional victims. The injured were transported to Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police accounts.- Martha Woodall
