SEPTA will shut down Market-Frankford elevated service in West Philadelphia for nine days in July and 16 days in August as construction crews rebuild the line.
Buses will replace rail service between the 69th Street Terminal and 40th Street Station during the closures.
The July shutdown will start tomorrow at 8 p.m. and continue until 5 a.m. July 23. The August closure will last from Aug. 10 to Aug. 27. During the closures, crews will replace 46th Street Station and a quarter-mile section of the elevated track and support pillars in the 4500 and 5400 blocks of Market Street. The work is scheduled for completion in 2009. - Paul Nussbaum
