Fairless Hills man's body found as apartment burns
Firefighters found the body of a man in his 40s inside a burning Fairless Hills apartment shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.
The man, who has not been identified pending notification of his family, lived alone in a third-floor unit in the Dorilyn Terrace Apartments in the 100 block of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, said Fairless Hills Fire Chief Rich Dippolito. The man's body was found on the floor between his bed and the door.
More than 50 firefighters responded to the scene, alerted by a report of heavy smoke. The blaze originated in the bedroom and was confined to the one apartment, according to the chief. The cause was under investigation. The fire was brought under control by 5:30 p.m.
