Suspect and motive sought in Grays Ferry killing

Police yesterday were still investigating the motive and trying to find out who fatally shot a 19-year-old man in Grays Ferry on Wednesday evening.

Eric Dixon of South Philadelphia was wounded about 6:15 p.m. near 28th and Dickinson Streets. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m.

The homicide was the city's 306th this year, a 5 percent increase over a year ago. - Barbara Boyer
