A Haddonfield financial planner, accused of attempting to defraud clients of more than $261,900, was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of mail fraud and an additional count of bank fraud, authorities said.

Dennis Kelley, 57, owned Philadelphia-based MAS Financial Planning Corp., Meridian Accounting, and FAS Financial Accounting Services, said Greg Reinert, spokesman for U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie.

Kelley, who was arrested by the FBI and federal Treasury agents, allegedly schemed to use his clients' personal information between April 1995 and April 2002 to fraudulently obtain tax refunds, open bank accounts and obtain lines of credit for his own benefit, Reinert said. - Sam Wood
