A former Bucks County municipal official has been sentenced to 331/2 to 67 years in state prison for assaults on a 12-year-old girl.

Robert Gress, a former vice chairman of the Upper Makefield zoning board, was convicted in March of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses. Prosecutors said the girl had been molested during sexual role-play games involving Gress and a woman, who was given probation.

Bucks County Judge Alan Rubenstein told Gress, 48, on Monday that he had earned "every minute" of the sentence. In a rambling statement, Gress said he had been framed and talked about his accomplishments at work and in the community.- AP
