Airport worker killed during tree-removal work

Officials from several agencies yesterday were investigating the death of a Philadelphia International Airport employee who was fatally injured while removing a tree.

An airport spokesman said John Roberts, 44, an 18-year employee, was in an accident on Tuesday and was later pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The accident was being investigated by the Philadelphia and Tinicum Township Police Departments, the airport, and the city's Risk Management Division. No other details were released. - Inquirer staff
