SPCA offers 'guarantee' for dogs and cats

The Pennsylvania SPCA has begun offering a "guarantee" of a good new adoptive home for dogs and cats that need to be surrendered by their current owners, shelter officials said.

Proof of ownership of the pet will be required. Animals can be surrendered between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. The shelter will also pick up animals for an additional $25 fee. For more information, call 215-426-6300 or visit
