Bristol Twp. boy, 7, is struck by SUV, killed

A 7-year-old Bristol Township boy was killed last night after running out in front of an SUV near his home, police said.

Emerson Nawuoh, of the township's Venice Ashby section, was struck on the right side by a Dodge Durango driven by Goldie Maddocks of Levittown at 5:26 p.m., Sgt. Charles Burns said. The child was pronounced dead at 6 p.m. at Lower Bucks Hospital. The accident occurred near a community center on Lakeland Avenue, a cut-through road popular with motorists headed to Route 13.

No charges are expected to be filed against Maddocks, Burns said. There was no indication that she had been speeding or impaired by drugs or alcohol, he said. The road, he said, was dry.

"She didn't see him until he was literally right in front of her," Burns said. "She didn't have time to stop."
