Camden man wanted in Oct. shooting is arrested

Federal marshals on Friday arrested a Camden man who was wanted in a fatal shooting on Halloween and who had fled the state. Gabriel Torres, 35, whose last known address was in the 300 block of Kaighns Avenue, is suspected in the shooting death of Daniel Gonzalez, 22, of the 700 block of Elm Street. Gunfire was exchanged around 5 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 400 block of Pine Street. Both men were hit. Torres drove from the scene, and relatives later took him to Cooper University Hospital. After several weeks of recuperation, Torres left the hospital and the state. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Dec. 4. He was found in Barry County, Mo. - Troy Graham
