Ex-state police leader is charged with DUI

HARRISBURG - The man who served eight years as Pennsylvania's state police commissioner faces drunken-driving charges. Police in a Harrisburg suburb said Paul Evanko, 60, was arrested Friday night after being involved in a minor traffic accident. His blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and he was charged with drunken driving, police said.

Evanko retired as commissioner in 2003.
