Ex-N.J. man charged in death of mistress
A former New Jersey man was charged yesterday with killing his mistress, who vanished in June and whose body has not been found.
Rosario DiGirolamo, formerly of Millstone, is accused of killing Amy Giordano of Hightstown. He was arrested at his parents' home in Brooklyn, N.Y., said his lawyer, Jerome Ballarotto, who said he was ready to defend DiGirolamo against the charges.
"They told me they did not find the body, so we are a little confused as to how they have determined she is dead," Ballarotto said.
The couple's baby has been in foster care since June, when he was abandoned in the parking lot of Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., by DiGirolamo. Giordano, 27, was last seen two days before the baby, Michael DiGirolamo, was found at the hospital.
