Central High School to receive grant
Central High School will receive a $100,000 grant today from AARP Pennsylvania for its "Power of Student Voices" program, which helps connect citizens to the political process and has involved policymakers from various levels of government.
Central High School will receive a $100,000 grant today from AARP Pennsylvania for its "Power of Student Voices" program, which helps connect citizens to the political process and has involved policymakers from various levels of government.
The Ethel Percy Andrus Legacy Award will be presented to Central and school district officials at a ceremony at 8 a.m. at the school, 1700 W. Olney Ave. in Logan.
The organization, which serves people 50 and older, also will give its Legacy Innovation Award, including a $10,000 grant, to Norristown Area High School.
Norristown's family advocacy system designates teachers to develop one-on-one relationships with students to help with their family and home lives. The school will receive its award tomorrow.
