Shooting kills woman in Camden
A woman was shot to death early yesterday on North Congress Street in Camden. Officials said Chantel Funches, 24, of Fairview, was reported shot shortly before 12:30 a.m. after she and a friend were approached by a man in a vehicle in the 2700 block of the street.

Officials said Chantel Funches, 24, of Fairview, was reported shot shortly before 12:30 a.m. after she and a friend were approached by a man in a vehicle in the 2700 block of the street.
"The man began speaking with Funches' friend, which led to a dispute between Funches and the suspect," said Jason Laughlin, spokesman for acting Camden County Prosecutor Joshua M. Ottenberg.
The driver shot Funches once in the abdomen and drove away. The woman was pronounced dead about 2 a.m. at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
The shooter had not been identified, and police asked anyone with information to contact Camden County Investigator Matt Woshnak at 856-225-8400 or Camden City Police Detective Julio Rios at 856-757-7420.
