North Phila. man arrested in Brewerytown slaying
Police arrested a 25-year-old man early yesterday morning in connection with a deadly shooting in Brewerytown on Wednesday. Police said James Young, 25, of the 2700 block of Jefferson Street in North Philadelphia, was picked up about 2:45 a.m. and later charged with the killing of Fred Johnson, 43, of Brewerytown. The victim was shot in the chest about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday while on the 1300 block of Newkirk Street. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he died about two hours later.
