POTTSVILLE, Pa. - A former small-time drug dealer pleaded guilty yesterday to involuntary manslaughter in the 1985 death of a 13-year-old Pennsylvania boy he suspected of stealing his marijuana plants. David Reed's remains were found in woods months after he left home on a bicycle.

Joseph Geiger, 43, of Pottsville, was sentenced to one to two years in prison, but with credit for time served, he could be out of prison in six months. In exchange for his plea in Schuylkill County Court, prosecutors dropped a third-degree murder charge.

Geiger was arrested in August. Police say he accused Reed of stealing his marijuana plants and punched him in the face, causing him to fall backward and hit his head against a metal wall. - AP
