A Camden man was arrested early yesterday on charges of murdering his ex-girlfriend's male friend.
Police said Joseph Grant, 21, shot 28-year-old Jamar Palmer once in the chest around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Vineland, N.J.
The shooting happened after Palmer answered the door at the home of Grant's ex-girlfriend, according to Vineland police.
The woman, Alberta Black, told police that Grant and Palmer, of Millville, N.J., did not know each other.
This week, Black got a temporary restraining order against Grant after telling police that he had threatened to break her car windows and said he would "get her."
The order had not been served because police could not find Grant, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said.
After Thursday's shooting, Grant drove away, authorities said. U.S. marshals traced him to a rowhouse on the 800 block of Sylvan Street in Camden and raided the building around 3 a.m.
Grant was charged with murder and weapons offenses. He is being held at the Cumberland County jail on $1 million bail.
