A Chester woman dived from a second-story window to escape her boyfriend, who had tried to tie her up and stab her Monday, police said.
The woman landed on the porch roof and suffered lacerations to a leg, an arm, and her face, police said.
Angel Louis Marcano, 34, of Barclay Street in Chester, was being held yesterday at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, with bail set at $100,000 cash. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related crimes.
In June, Marcano was involved in a standoff with police when, after allegedly assaulting a different woman, he threatened to kill himself and blow up his house. He had a gun, a knife, and a container of gasoline. Marcano surrendered to police and the charges were dismissed, according to court records.
The fight Monday allegedly started at the woman's residence on East 21st Street. Marcano told her he wanted to visit a friend in Philadelphia. The woman, who was not identified more specifically in police reports, said she didn't want to go. Marcano threatened her with his fist, according to her account to police.
Marcano then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and told the woman to not "act up," according to a police affidavit.
Once outside, the woman screamed for help, and Marcano held the knife to her throat, police said.
Marcano forced her back inside to an upstairs bedroom, where he tried to tie her hands with strips from a pillowcase, according to the police affidavit. Marcano allegedly threatened to kill her, police said.
The woman broke free, and Marcano swung the knife at her. She broke a window and dived out, and Marcano fled. Police apprehended him soon after.
