NEWARK, N.J. - New Jersey-born rocker Jon Bon Jovi performed a brief acoustic set, including his hit "Can't Go Home," at a splashy post-primary campaign fund-raiser for Gov. Corzine last night.
The event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center drew about 2,000 people and was expected to raise $2 million.
Bon Jovi and four bandmates took the stage just after 8 and played three songs.
Addressing the crowd, Bon Jovi said that politics can be a dirty business but that he believes Corzine got involved to make a difference.
Corzine, a former Goldman Sachs executive, is seeking a second term in November. He faces Republican Christopher J. Christie, a former U.S. attorney.
