In Chester, 5 are shot at basketball court

Five people were shot late yesterday at a basketball court in a park in Chester City, Delaware County, authorities said.

The victims were hit by gunfire from a passing car at about 7 p.m. near Eighth and Caldwell Streets. They were treated at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. At least one was in critical condition.

Police later located a white four-door car that may have been involved in the shooting. It was found at the William Penn housing project, at Union Street and Frank Young Avenue about a half-mile from the shooting scene.
