Mission Kids, a fledgling nonprofit organization aimed at combating child abuse in Montgomery County, has benefited from more than $95,000 worth of holiday gifts, according to a news release.

Among the largest donors were Clemens Family Markets, Comcast, the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation, the North Penn Rotary Club, and the District Attorney's Office, which raised money in memory of Sharon Wagner, a 20-year employee, the release said.

"We cannot stress how critical it is to continue to provide these young victims with the resources they need for a hopeful future, and find it heartwarming to see many people who feel the same," Abbie Newman, executive director of Mission Kids, said in the statement.

Mission Kids, launched in October and based in Norristown, provides a broad range of support services to child victims and their families. For more information, call 484-687-2990, or visit www.missionkidscac.org - Kathleen Brady Shea
