Police seek ATM user in N.J. disappearance

Police have released a photo of an unidentified man who used a North Jersey tourist's ATM card hours after the card owner disappeared from an Atlantic City casino.

Police have released a photo of an unidentified man who used a North Jersey tourist's ATM card hours after the card owner disappeared from an Atlantic City casino.

Authorities said the ATM customer's identity could help them solve the disappearance of Martin Caballero of North Bergen. Caballero, who arrived with his family at the Trump Taj Mahal around 10:30 p.m. Friday, was last seen when he dropped off his wife and went to park their Lincoln MKS sedan.

The man in the photo withdrew about $300 from Caballero's account at a Bank of America in Egg Harbor Township, Atlantic County, about 1 a.m. Saturday, said authorities and Caballero's family.

Officials also released a picture this week of Caballero's charred luxury sedan. The ivory-colored vehicle was found around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, about 50 miles from the casino.

The car fire has been ruled an arson, authorities said.

Some relatives said they believed that Caballero, 47, had been carjacked. His casino-rewards card was swiped to enter a self-park garage at the Taj Mahal complex. Exiting does not require the card, they said.

Caballero, a manager at a Jersey City Stop & Shop, was in Atlantic City to celebrate his daughter's 21st birthday.

Anyone who can identify the man in the photo is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Detective Joseph Donatucci is the lead investigator. Information also may be given anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 609-652-1234.
