Girl's body found in Schuylkill
The victim, believed to be a 15-year-old, had been seen in the river with two others, who fled.
Philadelphia police late Thursday afternoon found the body of a teenage girl who had disappeared in the Schuylkill near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.
The body of Princess Asia King, 15, was recovered from the river around 6 p.m. by the police Marine Unit.
Shortly before 11 a.m., two joggers passing the bridge in Fairmount Park noticed three teens in the water who appeared to be in distress, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.
They helped two of the teens out of the water, Little said. The last teen, believed to be King, was seen disappearing under the water. The other two teens, reportedly boys, ran off.
Police found a bag on the riverbank that contained girls' clothing and perfume, Little said.
